Stefan is a vastly experienced dentist who qualified in 1996 from the world-renowned University of Pretoria. He achieved the qualification of BChD with distinction and received numerous accolades along the way, including Best Dental Student. During an eight-year stint at a private practice in London and Chelmsford, Stefan furthered his training by completing a four-year Masters degree in Prosthodontics, which he duly achieved with distinction. Stefan also has a passion for rejuvenating a patient’s smile and has achieved phenomenal results in doing smile makeover treatment and improvements in facial aesthetics. He also enjoys using botox and dermal fillers to create the optimum cosmetic result.
In his spare time, Stefan is a keen tennis player (although his dodgy hip has prevented him from attending Wimbledon), enjoys running and playing guitar in two rock bands. He would like to think of himself as a legendary singer and aficionado of the muso world, but those of us who know him might disagree. However, despite this one shortcoming, he enjoys life with his partner Marni, her three children and his two sons, Jacques and Francois.

I completed my dental training at the University of Bristol, receiving my degree qualification in 2009. Since qualification, I have undertaken extensive postgraduate training in the field of Aesthetic Dentistry and have successfully completed an Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry Course at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London. I have also successfully passed the MJDF examinations from the Royal College of Surgeons and completed the foundation for implant dentistry course with the renowned ITI organisation in 2015. I gained 5 years of clinical experience in private dentistry in Ascot and West Sussex before joining our practice. I pride myself on delivering dentistry of the highest quality, pain free, in a relaxed, friendly and caring atmosphere and I am proud to be a part of the QRDC team and their ethos towards dental care.
Although having grown up in Windsor, I already feel at home in Guernsey, because this is where my grandparents and great grandparents have lived for many years. So if you don’t think you’ll be able to put up with Stefan’s infamous singing skills, don’t worry, I am somewhat quieter and looking forward to meeting you soon in Treatment Suite 3!

Working at QRDC in addition to my private practice is wonderful. I work closely with the Principal to ensure we deliver a holistic, patient-centered service. Our primary focus revolves around patient satisfaction – we want everyone to have the most positive experience and forget they are in a clinical environment. Being a registered psychotherapist and nutritionist, as well as a Master Practitioner in nutritional interventions for eating disorders, I have a special interest in health and healing. Observing the newfound confidence in patients with cosmetic makeovers makes me further appreciate how important our appearance is to our overall sense of ourselves. I am excited about new developments taking place at QRDC that will further enhance our patient experience, as well as embarking upon research in conjunction with our highly specialised two-phase Orthodontic treatment.
I love keeping fit and running, preparing and eating healthy and delicious meals as well as caring for my three children and (exceptionally) talented partner, Stefan… whose singing is of a… rather high calibre for a dentist!

I was born in the bonnie Scottish county of Fife.
In 2009 I started my career as a Dental Nurse with the Community Dental Service. After working in private practice for a few years I decided to challenge myself and apply to become a Dental Therapist at the University of Dundee, where I graduated with distinction in 2016. I went on to carry out vocational training in Fort William in the Scottish Highlands. The best part of my job is making people smile! I enjoy educating children and adults on the best way to maintain healthy teeth and gums and I like to try and make visits as fun and positive as possible. I am interested Zoom and tooth whitening, and plan on carrying out further qualifications in Facial Aesthetics.
In my spare time I like to try and keep active and participate in pretty much any activity from yoga to spin. I’m excited to explore some of the beautiful coastal walks around the island. As a teenager I was involved in a local amateur dramatic society and am still passionate about musical theatre and the arts. I am looking forward to seeing you In Treatment Suite 2!
I started working for QRDC as a Trainee Dental Nurse in November 2017. I have previously worked in offices and the financial services industry, but decided that it wasn’t for me and wanted to try something new and more rewarding.
Within my first month here I have learned so many things and have loved seeing the transformation of patient’s teeth and how happy they are with their final results. I have also enjoyed listening to Stefan’s different styles of singing, (mainly his opera) which can be heard through the walls in Treatment Suite 2! I am looking forward to learning loads more and excited to begin my training in earnest, and seeing where this career takes me!
After working for 8 years as a Doctor’s PA and helping my husband run his own business, I decided to make the move to the dental profession. I started working for the Queens Road Dental Centre as a Receptionist in 2000, and took on the additional role of Practice Manager in 2007.
I enjoy working in a professional environment and am responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice. I thrive on interacting with the patients and assist in any way I can to deal with questions and any concerns that may occur. This can be interesting at times, as I am located directly in front of Treatment Suite 1, so my conversations often occur in the backdrop of music emanating from that particular direction…and did I mention the singing?
We have been in the process of updating our equipment and technology to ensure patients have access to the most comfortable experience possible – like our hand held X Ray machine that makes the process simple, easier and more relaxing. The only thing we haven’t yet anticipated are ear plugs…given the singing I heard recently, I may just put that on the next order list!
As a child I used to come over to Guernsey for the summer holidays to visit my grandparents, and, having fallen in love with the island, eventually moved out here to live with my family over twenty years ago. Previous to joining this dynamic practice, I spent over twelve years in different areas of health care.
This is where life has changed for me for the better, becoming part of the QRDC team has been an experience in more ways than one! I feel I am always learning something new and know I will continue to do so. It is a pleasure to be part of a team that have made me feel so welcome from the very beginning and have supported me throughout my training and for this I am truly thankful.
However the ‘pros’ don’t come without the ‘cons’ (excuse the pun), so a little bit of advice for patients. We have two brilliant dentists, however, be advised that when you are asked what music you would like to listen to in Treatment Suite 1, please be sure that you actually specify the genre and for goodness sakes do not give that particular dentist (sorry Stefan) the option as you may be stuck with David Hasselhoff! That is all I have to say about that! Oh yes and most definitely bring ear plugs with you as he sings too!!

I first started working at the QRDC as a Trainee Dental Nurse in 2001 at the age of 19, after deciding that a typical office job just wasn’t for me! I eventually took my NEBDA examination in 2005, hearing that I had qualified in 2006 whilst travelling in India. Over the next few years, the travelling bug took hold and I disappeared off again, but always returned back to the Queens Road Dental Centre. It certainly is a great place to work. I love the funny banter with the Dentist and patients, and the vast range of music that gets played in the surgery. I recently have had to give up full time work for a part-time position at QRDC due to the arrival of my beautiful baby boy William in January 2016. Although William takes up a lot of my time, I still manage to fit in the things I enjoy, like watching and reading Sci-Fi series and going down to Footes Lane Stadium for the rugby.
I love the variety that dentistry provides and I thrive on making people more comfortable and confident about their teeth and having treatment. I always have a hand to squeeze if a nervous patient comes in! I also enjoy seeing the change in people both physically and mentally after having orthodontic treatment, seeing their confidence grow with each passing month as they start to envisage the end result.
I started work at QRDC over two years ago and qualified as a Dental Nurse in May 2017. QRDC provided the training for this amazing career and I was able to work throughout my studies – I just love my job and I love working here! I feel our Dental Practice is different from others that I have attended. The QRDC is a very supportive company to work with and provides opportunities for advancement and training with friendly and helpful staff. The best part of my day is meeting new people and encouraging patients to have a positive experience, especially if they might be nervous or coming to see us because they are in pain. I feel so valued in my role and would recommend working at QRDC to anyone….and I would recommend patients highly as we provide so much in terms of nurturing, care, compassion, laughter and music…lots and lots of music!
Dental Surgeon's Assistant
I am currently studying Ecology at the University of Brighton and started working at QRDC in the summer of 2017. I have thoroughly loved working for such a happy, enthusiastic team. It has been so enjoyable working here as the patient always gets a pick of whatever music they choose! Singing competitions coming through Treatment Suite 1 also has been a highlight! I have never previously worked at a dental practice before where the patient’s needs and comfort are put at the absolute forefront of everything else. However nervous or anxious, the staff all help ensure our patients are completely at ease and the examination actually seems fun. The ‘Before and After’ photos I have been shown have really inspired me to work in dentistry. I have a keen interest in biology and music – I am an avid singer and enjoy a variety of genres with a preference for pop however Stefan actively prevents me from singing in the Treatment Suite as, in his words, ‘She puts me to shame’!
Matt is our key engineer, technical guru and has recently commissioned and designed Treatment Suite 1. We think he has done a wonderful job and thank him for his ongoing support with the maintenance of our dental equipment and keeping the technology at QRDC up to date and in perfect working order. Matt lives in Jersey with his wife and two beautiful children. He loves chocolate banana protein shakes and is always there when we need him.
